A Fantasy Wolf RPG
The World always knew that Yellowstone Park, spanning two states, held a devastating and deadly secret;
Under it’s very crust lay something so feared and so powerful, it had been dubbed a Super Volcano.
Said to blow every 70,000 million years or so, scientists feared the extinction of the top of the food chain;
Man.
It’d been almost 75,000 million years since the last eruption. Scientists hoped and prayed they’d witnessed the first inactivation of a Super Volcano.
Unfortunately, they were wrong.
Several Earthquakes hit the National Park, causing the very earth to split and rub together. This caused the molten lava, at least 100,000 degrees hotter then an average volcano, to rise up faster then any could’ve speculate.
It was worse then Mt. Saint Helen’s.
Ash, thick as snow, burst through the air, making it impossible to breathe. Several species died off.
But some adapted.
Humans, for instance, were already extremely recreational. The discovered ways to keep the ash out of their houses, and they bought and made gas masks to help them breathe through the toxic air.
And then Canines. They adapted in ways never seen before. The tamed dogs, dubbed ‘Man’s Best Friend,’ adapted alongside the humans. But it was wolves that did the most awe-inspiring thing. All the wolves in the world started going towards Yellowstone. They swam over entire seas, walked over millions of miles of terrain. Some died.
When all the wolves had reached the land, a sort of Nuclear Winter had started. The Ash mixed with snow, making it thicker and toxic. Entire oceans froze, bringing the continents together for one final Ice Age.
The wolves banded together, and thrived so well in this almost endless winter, the Humans, or what was left of them, named the WinterPack.
But some of ‘WinterPack’ didn’t like the coldness. They rebelled, and started a different Pack; SummerPack. Together, the new Pack traveled the world, looking for one last refuge, one last place of warmth.
Centuries later, the Nuclear Winter had ended. But the frozen oceans had brought the continents so close together, they were almost one.
Eventually, the continents crushed together, making one large body of land. Islands still dotted the world all over. Soon, in the human’s schools the children learned of their world as ‘Utopia,’ and the ocean, for there was only one now, and the ‘Endless Sea.’
The wolves had a different name for it;
Spero, the Latin word for ‘Hope.’
Fading Stars is a literate Fantasy Wolf RPG with a low IC character count of only 150 words. There are no character-limits or taboo topics. We only ask that you be respectful.
